Features / Development build

Find your workflow.

Arrange a track, play an instrument, shape a mix or prepare a set. Waveqi brings these tasks into one shared session, with different levels of maturity.

Built is not release-ready. Built means implemented in the development version. Validation covers specific tested paths, not every real-world workflow. Planned work is not yet available. Waveqi has no public download. Read the development status.

Arrangement

Build the track.

Built / Workflow validation ongoing

Place audio on the timeline, organize parts into groups, use transport loops and grooves, and keep an editable session history with undo and redo. Recording and whole-take promotion are implemented.

Still in development: deeper pattern and session-clip workflows, segment-level comping and linked multi-input editing. Physical recording timing and long-session behavior still need hardware validation.

Instruments & MIDI

Write the parts.

Built / Sound and workflow development ongoing

Edit selected MIDI notes and paste new phrases. The native synth includes filter modulation; the sampler includes trim, reverse, one-shot and gated playback, loops, sustain and per-zone settings.

Procedural rhythm, bass and chord generation is implemented. These are rule-based musical tools, not AI session players or a complete assistant.

Still in development: broader sound design, sampler depth and production pitch-correction workflows.

Mixing

Route and balance.

Built / Supported routing and export subsets

Stereo tracks, buses and master processing support inserts, pre- and post-fader sends, native sidechain processing and latency compensation. Track freeze, project collect and restore, and track or bus stem export are implemented for supported cases.

Practical limits: freeze and export do not cover every session configuration or plugin tail. Verified stem recombination applies to supported linear processing, not arbitrary nonlinear mixes. Multichannel routing and spatial delivery remain development work.

Plugins

Bring in your sounds.

Built / Compatibility validation limited

VST3 and Audio Unit instrument hosting is implemented, including notes, supported expression and transport information. CLAP effect hosting is implemented; CLAP instruments and broader expression support remain development work.

Practical limits: low-latency live playing, uninterrupted sound during session edits and third-party compatibility are still being developed and measured. Current plugin tests do not establish compatibility with every plugin or operating system. Plugin sidechains are not the same as the built-in native sidechain support.

Decks & library

Prepare and play a set.

Built / Live performance validation pending

Four decks include protected loading, source cues, loops, beat jumps, rate and phase sync, flexible beatgrids and slip. Library catalogs, manual and smart crates, tags, preparation history and MIDI controller learning are implemented.

Practical limits: separate MAIN and headphone CUE require four-channel audio output. Hardware isolation, controller timing and long-set reliability still need validation. Key-detection confidence is not yet calibrated against real music, and local stem separation still needs actual model-runtime verification.

Planned, not available: DVS/timecode and broader HID hardware integration, streaming-service connections and remote collaboration.
